Crawford County
Crawford County was created in January of 1851 and organized in 1855. The county was named after William H. Crawford, who was the US Secretary of the Treasury and a Senator from Georgia. The County is located approximately 60 miles from Sioux City, which is to the northwest, and 70 miles from Omaha to the southwest. The population of Crawford County, according to the 2000 Census is 16,942 residents.
